Bill Gates is lending his influence and wallet to emerging energy technologies that are environmentally responsible and economically advantageous. I’m familiar with lots of arguments against fossil fuels, but I love Gates’s approach because he’s nonjudgmental and a realist: he doesn’t expect the world’s population (especially the poverty-stricken) to dramatically change or even reduce its consumption habits.
